Lohri festival was celebrated in the college campus on 13 January 2025 with a great enthusiasm and rituals. On this Occasion,Chairman Mr. J.S Gill lighted the lamp and discussed Dulla Bhatti stories associated with the Lohri celebration. Dr. Sanjeev Duggal discussed that this festival is celebrated to highlight the beginning of the harvesting of the Ravi crop and the end of the winter season. The festival celebrates the harvest of key winter crops like sugarcane, mustard, and wheat, highlighting agricultural prosperity. Communities offer prayers to the Sun God (Surya Devta) and Fire God (Agni) for a bountiful harvest and overall prosperity.
Every faculty member and the students put offerings in the boon fire. Female faculty members and the students also sing the popular lohri songs and enjoy sesame seeds and gajak. In this way, the lohri festival teaches us to forget all kinds of anomalies and live together to each other, and also respect our culture and tradition.
