Report on Seminar on World Earth Day

On the occasion of World Earth Day, Global College of Pharmacy, Kahnpur Khui organized an informative seminar aimed at spreading awareness about environmental protection and sustainable living among students. The program was successfully conducted under the guidance of the Cultural Activity Coordinator. The main objective of this event was to develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment among students and inspire them to contribute towards the conservation of nature.

The program began with an introduction highlighting the significance of World Earth Day. It was explained that this day is observed worldwide to raise awareness about critical environmental issues such as climate change, pollution, deforestation, and loss of biodiversity. Students were informed that protecting the Earth is not an option but a shared responsibility of every individual, and collective efforts are essential for meaningful change.

The keynote speaker, Prof. Shilpa, delivered an impactful and insightful session. She explained how human activities have caused serious damage to the environment, leading to problems such as global warming, air and water pollution, plastic waste, and depletion of natural resources. She emphasized that even small positive actions taken by individuals can collectively lead to significant environmental improvement.

Prof. Shilpa encouraged students to adopt practical measures for environmental protection, such as reducing the use of plastic, conserving water and electricity, promoting tree plantation, andmanaging waste properly. She also highlighted the importance of the “Three R’s”—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—and encouraged students to incorporate these principles into their dailylives. The session was highly interactive, with active participation from the students.After the keynote address, the Principal, Dr. Sanjiv Duggal, addressed the gathering and stated that protecting the environment is our moral responsibility and essential for the safe future of coming generations. He motivated students to become responsible citizens and contribute positively to society.

The Chairman of the institution, Mr. J.S. Gill, also shared his views and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in solving environmental challenges. He urged students to actively participate in creating a clean and green environment. In addition, the management members Mr. Vineet Malhotra and Mr. B.S. Rana also encouraged the students and motivated them to take an active role in environmental protection. Their inspiring words further strengthened the sense of awareness and responsibility among the students.

In conclusion, the seminar proved to be highly successful and inspiring. It significantly enhanced students’ awareness about environmental issues and motivated them to work towards building a clean, green, and healthy future.
