This initiative is aimed at fostering rural development by connecting higher educational institutions with villages to address local development challenges.

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan was launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (now Ministry of Education) in India. The program encourages universities and colleges to adopt villages and collaborate with the local communities to identify and implement sustainable solutions for their socio-economic development.
