As part of the nationwide initiative, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Global College of Engineering and Technology, Kahnpur Khui organized a pledge-taking ceremony to raise awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse. The pledge ceremony was held in the college seminar hall, which was filled with enthusiastic students and faculty members. The event began with a brief introduction to the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, explaining its objectives and the role of educational institutions in combating drug addiction.

  1. Opening Remarks: The event commenced with a welcome speech by the Principal, Dr. Mithlesh Sharma who emphasized the importance of awareness and prevention in the fight against drug abuse. He encouraged students to take the pledge seriously and become ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

  2. Pledge Administration: The pledge was administered by a senior faculty member Ms. Palvi, Ms. Anupama, Ms. Shaveta, Ms. Nikita. All students and staff present at the event stood up, raised their right hands, and solemnly repeated the pledge, committing themselves to stay away from drugs and to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse within their communities.

  3. Student Participation: The students participated with great enthusiasm, showing their resolve to support the initiative. Many students expressed their views on the importance of staying drug-free and shared personal stories about how drug abuse has affected individuals they know.

  4. Awareness Talk: Following the pledge, a faculty was invited to speak on Drug addiction. The speaker highlighted the consequences of drug addiction and the role that young people can play in creating a drug-free society. The talk was informative and left a lasting impact on the attendees.

Distribution of Awareness Materials: Pamphlets and brochures containing information about the harmful effects of drugs, ways to resist peer pressure, and contact details of counseling centers were distributed to the students.
