REPORT ON INTERNATIONAL LITERACY DAY

Global College of Pharmacy celebrated International Literacy Day with an informative and
engaging seminar for the students of B.Pharmacy. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of literacy and its role in building knowledge, creating opportunities, and contributing to the development of an empowered society.
The seminar was conducted by Ms. Kajal Choudhary, who provided students with a brief yet
comprehensive understanding of the significance of International Literacy Day. She elaborated on the meaning, importance, uses, and advantages of literacy, emphasizing that literacy is not limited to the ability to read and write but also enables individuals to understand information, make informed decisions, develop confidence, and participate effectively in society.
The session was conducted in accordance with the theme “Literacy: The Foundation of Knowledge and Opportunity.” Ms. Kajal Choudhary highlighted how education and literacy provide individuals with the knowledge and skills required to pursue better opportunities and contribute positively to their communities. An interactive discussion was also held with the students, encouraging them to share their views and understand the importance of continuous learning in their personal and professional lives.
Dr. Sanjiv Duggal, Principal, shared his valuable views on the theme and emphasized the
importance of education and knowledge in shaping responsible and capable professionals. He encouraged the students to make continuous learning an integral part of their lives.
Mr. J. S. Gill, Chairman/Director of the College, also addressed the students and shared his
thoughts on the importance of literacy. He motivated the students to acquire knowledge, educate others, and contribute towards creating a more knowledgeable and progressive society. His inspiring words encouraged students to recognize their responsibility as educated individuals and future healthcare professionals.
The management members, Mr. Vineet Malhotra and Mr. B. S. Rana, also shared their valuable views on the occasion. They appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to actively participate in educational and awareness activities that promote learning and social
development.
The programme concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Kajal Choudhary, Coordinator of the Event, who expressed gratitude to the management, Principal, faculty members, and students for their valuable presence, support, and active participation in making the programme successful. The celebration served as an enlightening platform for the B.Pharmacy students to understand that literacy is the foundation of knowledge, empowerment, and opportunity. The programme successfully encouraged students to value education, continue learning, and share their knowledge with others for the betterment of society.
