The NSS Club at Global Group of Institutions, Khanpur Khui, Anandpur Sahib, organized an event on August 14th to celebrate India's Independence Day with the theme "Har Ghar Tiranga." The college premises were beautifully decorated, reflecting a festive mood, and the event began with the unfurling of the Indian tricolor, followed by the singing of the national anthem.
The principal, Dr. Mithlesh Sharma Principal, GCET and Dr. Sanjeev Duggal, Principal, GCOP, delivered a heartfelt speech, recalling the sacrifices made by India's freedom fighters. He emphasized their dreams and aspirations and expressed concern that the common people have yet to fully enjoy the true fruits of freedom. He encouraged students to contribute to India's progress in their own ways.
This year's celebration stood out as students actively participated by delivering speeches and taking part in poster-making and speech competitions centered around the "Har Ghar Tiranga" theme. The winners were announced by the principal.
Chairman J.S. Gill, Principal Dr. Sanjiv Duggal, NSS Incharge Prof. Jasmine Dhiman, NSS Coordinator Prof. Priya Sharma, Dr. Mithlesh Sharma, Ms. Palvi, and other faculty members played pivotal roles in organizing the event. The goal was to evoke a sense of patriotism and raise awareness about the importance of the Indian National Flag.
